Navtex Display
Free OpenCPN plugin: navigational warnings and MSI areas drawn on your nautical chart, so you see where the notice sits relative to your ship and route.
Windows OpenCPN: download the plugin tarball, then Options → Plugins → Import Plugin Tarball. No separate setup.exe.

What the package contains
metadata.xml— OpenCPN Plugin Manager metadataplugins/navtex_pi.dll— Windows plugin binaryplugins/navtex_pi/data/— offline sample corpus and lexicon
Linux
Linux needs a native libnavtex_pi.so tarball (OpenCPN does not load Windows DLLs).
Until a Linux platform tarball is published, use the free
source bundle
and build against your OpenCPN headers, then Import Plugin Tarball the same way.
What it does
Officers already read NAVTEX / NAVAREA-style warnings. Navtex Display helps you see them on the chart while you plan or stand watch in OpenCPN.
Warning map on the chart
Areas and notices appear as colored overlays on the same chart you already navigate with. Hover or select a warning to read the short summary.
Along your route
Focus on warnings near your ship or along the voyage plan you loaded in OpenCPN.
Honest limits
- Planning / situational aid on OpenCPN — not a certified NAVTEX receiver.
- Does not replace the ship’s official MSI watch or Admiralty products.
- Needs OpenCPN installed. Windows plugin tarball is ready; Linux .so package follows separately.
